Single Vehicle MVC with Roof Removal - Gum Road

On April 30, 2011 the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company, Dagsboro EMS, SCEMS Medic 105 and DSP Trooper 2 were dispatched for a single vehicle MVC with entrapment on Gum Road. First arriving, Command 76-8 with Chief John Wright found a single vehicle crash as reported with one stable victim unable to be accessed. Next arriving Engine/Rescue 76-3 with Rescue Captain Billy Ireland was assigned to stabilize the vehicle and begin the extrication process by removing the roof of the vehicle. An additional Rescue truck was requested from the Roxana VFC to assist with the extrication process. Once the roof was removed the patient was able to be removed from the vehicle for ground transport to BMC.
